I almost puked when watching the Republican convention and the crowd started chanting “Drill Baby Drill”. Did these people have any idea what they were saying. I think they did. They only cared about one thing. THEMSELVES. Drilling would lead to cheaper gas prices for them. When the gas prices hit $4 a year or so ago, I was thrilled. I thought, “Maybe expensive gas prices would help us realize that we can’t be dependent on the foreign governments for our oil. We need to find alternative sources of Energy. This will force us to do that”. I was wrong. The reaction was, “DRILL BABY DRILL” . Obama caved and agreed to drilling more. Read More.... and see more DesignsTo me this disaster could be a blessing in disguise. Maybe it will wake us up that we can’t drill in our oceans. Obama and Governor Crist of Florida are waking up. We need everyone to wake up and we need to find alternative sources of fuel. The ridiculous thing is that we have it already. Natural gas is plentiful, in our own backyard, cleaner than gas, and in the same price range as oil. We only need to start the process of changing our vehicles and utilizing a distribution system already in place for oil and adjusting the natural gas. That is just the start. We have to go one step further and find other ways that do not rape our planet of its natural resources but find ways to harness energy from the wind, the sun, and the air. We have the answers already but big business stops this from happening. I may not be around to see our planet destroyed by our own greed, but it will happen if we continue on this path. We owe it our future generations to start the process now. Don’t wait. Let your government know how you feel.
