I almost puked when watching the Republican convention and the crowd started chanting “Drill Baby Drill”. Did these people have any idea what they were saying. I think they did. They only cared about one thing. THEMSELVES. Drilling would lead to cheaper gas prices for them.
When the gas prices hit $4 a year or so ago, I was thrilled. I thought, “Maybe expensive gas prices would help us realize that we can’t be dependent on the foreign governments for our oil. We need to find alternative sources of Energy. This will force us to do that”. I was wrong. The reaction was, “DRILL BABY DRILL” . Obama caved and agreed to drilling more.
